Apparently, the “new age grandma” is sad, selfish and doesn’t show up like grandmothers used to.
Well…let’s talk about WHY.
Today’s grandmothers are still working, caring for aging parents, maintaining marriages, building businesses and living their own damn lives. And many of us are no longer willing to tolerate disrespect, entitlement or one-sided relationships just to maintain access to our children and grandchildren.
In this episode, I’m talking about boundaries, reciprocity, the disappearing “village,” transactional family relationships and why so much of the blame for broken family dynamics continues to fall on mothers and grandmothers.
And while we’re talking about these “new age grandmas”…where are the granddads in this conversation?
